![]() ![]() Goligoski is frustrating, too inconsistent right now to be our offensive defenseman. We need a top flight offensive defenseman, which is why we signed Gonchar. Both Nemeth and Oleksiak are defensive defenseman. Oleksiak will probably start in minors with 20-30 games in the NHL next year, but still a lot of development until we can really rely on him, probably 2 years off before we know what we have. ![]() Brendon Dillon (23) is legit shut down defenseman. Only thing that worries me about the Stars is the future of its D. Chiasson was a freaking beast before getting hurt, and Eakin is a major sleeper) We have 5 of our top 6 forwards set now and none of them are older than 23 ()not sure if Rithcie can hack it in the NHL, but the others I listed are going to be legit players. Mark Rechi is in our front office and he mentored Seguin when he first went to Boston, so we wouldn't have made the deal unless Rechi who actually knows Seguin said he checked out. I think some of that stuff is just rumors with a bit of truth to it. if you really want to, you can find enough to get yourself into trouble. I live in Dallas though and can tell you. " apparently got so bad that during the playoffs, the Bruins ordered Seguin to live in a hotel, where a guard was hired to make sure he stayed in his room."ĭallas isnt boston, hopefully you guys can make him get his s**t together Sucks to lose Ericksson but if Seguin can put it together, Seguin + Benn could be freaking amazing Jamie Benn (23) - Tyler Seguin (21) - Valeri Nichushkin (18)īrett Ritchie (20) - Cody Eakin (22) - Alex Chiasson (23) For sure have an elite line in the making though: He sat out a couple of shifts, but when he returned for a faceoff, with Landy lined up outside on the circle, he skated like the wind to get next to Landy just in time for the drop of the puck and there was a little more pushing and shoving from there. When Downie got up, he skated gingerly back to the bench, looking to have a leg that was not feeling too hot. So later, Landy got Downie in the corner and flat-out pitch-forked his feet from under him with his stick, sending Downie down on the ice. But Downie, whose helmet flew off on his hit, was bending down to pick it up and couldn’t engage much. I didn’t see the whole thing, but Landy took major exception to a hit Downie gave him during scrimmages today and tried to go after him along the bench. While there have been no fights so far, there was some bad blood today between Gabe Landeskog and Steve Downie at least. How the incident went down from the Denver Post : “Basically the Avalanche decided that when that happened, and Downie was unapologetic about it, the time was going to come when he was going to get dealt. I was just told that from that day, considering Downie was a bit unrepentant about it, I just heard the Avalanche decided they were going to make the change at that time. “ During training camp, Downie got angry at Landeskog for a trip during a scrimmage, and he drilled. You rarely see a first-rounder get traded for a guy who - while a useful player - is now pretty much a fourth-liner. Hockey Night in Canada's Elliotte Friedman reported a preseason incident with Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog may have caused the trade that sent Steve Downie to the Flyers.įriedman on the radio today via Pro Hockey Talk : “Obviously, people thought it was a weird trade. ![]()
